Your Story
Ashley and Vinny went to middle and high school together, only knowing of each other and passing in the halls, but they never officially met. “We finally met in high school as a sophomore and a junior in November of 2013 through mutual friends,” Ashley explains. “It only took two weeks of talking—and on December 1, 2013, our story began. We’ve been through it all together from attending homecomings, all four proms, getting our driver’s licenses, graduating high school, 10 years of birthdays and holidays, traveling, becoming fur parents and buying a home. At only 15 and 16 years old we had no idea we’d be here today, as high-school sweethearts now married!”
Will You Marry Me?
The couple got engaged in October 2022 during a family vacation at Disney. Vinny had told Ashley that he was unable to make the vacation due to his new job, which was true. “Vinny had flown out to Disney for 48 hours to surprise me in front of the Cinderella wishing well in Magic Kingdom to ask me to marry him in front of our families,” Ashley says.
Details of the Day
Ashley and Vinny were married on April 26, 2024, at The Grand in Totowa. Flower girls wore light-blue gowns with the groomsmen in black tuxedos. Ashely wore a fit-and-flare Eve of Milady gown and Vinny wore a tuxedo with a white jacket.
All florals were white and blue roses complemented by greenery. The ceremony took place outside on the courtyard at the Grand, and guests were then invited into the ballroom, decorated with the same white, light blue and green florals.
Their first dance song was “All of Me,” by John Legend. “This is special to us because we danced to this song at 16 years old during my Sweet 16, and 10-and-a-half years later we got to dance to it on our wedding day,” Ashley explains.
Other special décor included signature drinks, where they included their fur babies, Ralph and Pauly. They also had figurines specially made to look like their cat and dog to decorate the cake.
Why Did You Choose The Grand?
“From the moment we walked through doors of The Grand, we knew it was our venue,” Ashley says. “We didn’t even finish the full tour before knowing it was the perfect place!”
Favorite Moment
“My favorite moment would be saying ‘I do’ in front of our friends and family,” Ashley says.
Favorite Detail
“Our favorite can’t-live-without detail was our memorial table to our loved ones who couldn’t be there to celebrate with us,” Ashley explains. The bride also attached a charm of her grandmother and grandfather who passed to her bouquet along with a part of her grandmother’s dress wrapped around the handle. The groom had a necklace with the picture of his father who had passed. “These were special details that we hold close to our hearts,” Ashley says.
Advice for Others
“Enjoy the process of being engaged and planning,” Ashley says. “Enjoy every single moment leading up to the big day. And finally, on the wedding day take a moment to look around for you and your partner and soak it all in. It truly goes by so so fast and it was the most amazing day of our lives.”
Honeymoon
Ashely and Vinny went on a very relaxing trip to Sandals Royal Barbados. They relaxed and explored the beautiful island and had the most amazing time.
