Their Story
“We met our senior year at the University of Delaware, through mutual friends,” Casey says. “Go Blue Hens!”

Will You Marry Me?
Casey and Peter got engaged surrounded by family and friends on their five-year anniversary on Long Beach Island. “My family has had a vacation home there for generations, so it is a very special place!” Casey explains. “Peter proposed with my grandmother’s ring that he got from my mother to give to me. It was the perfect surprise.”

Details of the Day
On December 31, 2025, the couple had a traditional Catholic ceremony in Casey’s hometown church in Stirling, NJ. “After that, we took a vintage car over to the Olde Mill Inn to take photos, while guests sipped champagne and warm apple cider in the upstairs library,” Casey says. “Then cocktail hour opened up downstairs and guests were treated to tables of cuisines from all around the world. There was a taco station, a Biergarten station, a Korean BBQ station and a mac & cheese bar, along with over a dozen different passed hors d’oeuvres.”

“After the hour was up, the guests filed into the ballroom, and the party started swinging!” Casey continues. “After a few intimate first dances and speeches, the dance floor opened up and was packed the rest of the night! It was a true New Jersey affair.”

Why Did You Choose the Olde Mill Inn?
Casey and Peter loved the cozy, classy atmosphere for their winter wonderland wedding.

Favorite Moment
For Casey, her favorite moment is a tie between their surprise cake-cutting and the midnight ball drop. “Our cake-cutting started with a sweet song—‘Sugar, Sugar’ by the Archies—and after a minute or two, the deejay dropped the beat, we threw our shades on and we started pumping our fists to ‘Cut the Mozzarella’ by DJ Arlette. No one was expecting THAT!” Casey explains.

“The other special moment came around 11:45 when the screen dropped down to play Rockin’ NYE and the deejay passed out our NYE hats, party blowers, etc.” Casey says. “Champagne was passed around and we all counted down together to the New Year! The party didn’t stop there, the reception raged on until 1:00 am!”

Advice for Others
“If I could do it all over again, I wouldn’t listen to the advice of others and I would just go with my gut,” Casey says. “It’s hard when outside people want a piece of your special day, but just tune it out and stand tall with your spouse!”

Honeymoon
Casey and Peter’s honeymoon was quite an adventure! “I’m a flight attendant, so we flew standby from Newark to Tokyo, and spent a few days in the city,” she explains. “Then it was back on a plane to fly to Vietnam. We spent a day or two in the capital of Hanoi, immersing ourselves in the history and culture. After that we took a breathtaking cruise on Halong Bay. Next it was off to Thailand where we started with a few days in Bangkok doing temple tours and eating all of the street food in sight. Finally we jetted off to Phuket to relax at a beautiful private villa on the beach for the last few days of our trip. What a whirlwind!”
