Their Story
“Let’s just say that their [story] began on a rainy day, with two people feeling a little lonely, deciding ‘Why not?’ and making profiles on Facebook Dating,” explained Patrick’s sister Kim in her wedding-day speech as the couple’s officiant. “Now we all know pictures matter on those profiles, and these two did not disappoint. Danielle posted a picture of herself proudly holding a sea bass that she caught and Patrick’s? His profile featured…his head on a toilet. Yes, this is the modern version of Romeo and Juliet, folks.”
After a few unanswered Facebook messages, Danielle finally responded. That led to a Face Time call, which
led to an in-person meeting—at a park, nonetheless. While the plot of a deadly Dateline episode quickly went through both of their minds, this first encounter led to the rest of their lives together. As they got to know one another, they realized just how much they had in common. They even discovered that they had been living in the same town without ever crossing paths.
“They used to go to the same bar on Passaic Avenue in Caldwell—probably brushing shoulders, maybe even ordering drinks side by side–never knowing the person they’d one day marry was right there,” Kim adds. “It was as if they danced around each other, until the universe finally stepped in and said ‘OK you two, enough is enough; time to bring you two together.’ It is a well-crafted story, really—all the twists and turns in their lives being a part of their journey leading them to one another. A destined connection just like the invisible string theory suggests.”
Will You Marry Me?
Danielle and Patrick got engaged on June 14, 2025. It was the day before Father’s Day, while on a cruise to the Bahamas with their family. “Happened during dinner, very intimate moment, we didn’t make a big announcement at the restaurant,” she says.
Details of the Day
The couple was married on April 4, 2026, at Crystal Point Yacht Club in Point Pleasant, NJ. The theme of their wedding was influenced and inspired by the ocean. “Blue and aqua were our colors with accents of silver,” Danielle explains. “The men wore royal blue and the girls wore aqua. The groom’s bow tie and pocket square were the only match to the girls dresses.”
Patrick wore a light grey suit and the bridesmaids wore silver shoes or flats. The groomsmen only wore a vest—no jackets for comfort—and brown shoes.
The Ceremony
Before the bride processed down they aisle, their dog was escorted by their flower girl.
As for the officiant, Patrick’s sister Kim did the honors. “My sister-in-law and I wrote our ceremony speech,” Danielle says. “We wanted it personal, funny and lighthearted.“
The Cake
Their cake was also inspired by the ocean and adorned with seashell decorations.
The Reception
Glow sticks were placed at every place setting as a favor so the guests would have it when Danielle and Patrick made their entrance. “We had a whole wedding party bomb as our entrance. The groomsmen, bridesmaids and flower girl came out together to Pitbull’s ‘Get Ready’ featuring Blake Shelton,” Danielle explains. She and Patrick came out to the song “Came Here for Love,” by Sigala.
First Dance
For their first dance, Danielle and Patrick choreographed it themselves by picking different moves from YouTube videos and practiced it in their living room. It included twirls and jumps to Dashboard Confessional’s ‘Heart Beat Here.’
Other dances were just as heartfelt. In addition to the father-daughter dance, Danielle surprised her mom with a mother-daughter dance, which Patrick later joined. There was also a surprise dance with Patrick and his sister Kim, since both of their parents are deceased. And Patrick’s 16-year-old son was a groomsmen and gave a speech along with Danielle’s father, the best man and matron of honor.
Why Did You Choose Crystal Point Yacht Club?
The couple chose Crystal Point Yacht Club in Point Pleasant, NJ, due to its location near the water. “It’s already so beautiful—limited decorations needed,” Danielle says.
Favorite Moment
Their favorite moment was their ceremony. “It was very personal and very funny to us because it talks about how we met and we are not a serious couple—we like to have fun,” Danielle adds.
Favorite Detail
Their favorite detail was their deejay and emcee from Fresh New Angle Events. “They really embodied our vision to just have an amazing day,” Danielle says.
Advice for Others
“Do not worry about the little mishaps—only you will know,” Danielle says. “No one else, not even the guests, will see the problem. The day goes by way too fast to worry about the little things. You will miss all the precious moments. Don’t forget to take in every moment and just have the best day of your life. The guests don’t care what color your napkins are at the tables—and we got great compliments on not having a boring ceremony.”
Honeymoon
The couple went to Sandals Grand St.Lucia for their honeymoon.
