Their Story

Gianna and Sean met in true New Jersey fashion at The Hunt—North Jersey’s annual day-drinking/horse-racing event. “We both ended up in the same lot with a big group of mutual friends,” Gianna explains. “The following weekend (Halloween) we were at the same party again, and hit it off. A few months later, we started dating officially, and the following year (right before the pandemic lockdown) we moved in together.”

Will You Marry Me?

“We had a very private engagement, close to where we live,” Gianna explains. “On our way to a delayed birthday dinner in 2023, Sean took a detour and brought me to Cross Estate Gardens in Bernardsville. This all happened three days before we left for a trip to Italy, and took me by surprise as I expected a proposal to happen on the trip! Afterward, we celebrated at our favorite special occasion restaurant, and had my mom and grandma meet us for celebratory champagne and coffee.”

Details of the Day

On August 24, 2024, Gianna and Sean were married at St. Teresa of Avila Church in Summit, NJ, with their reception following at the Park Avenue Club in Florham Park. “Our wedding was the dreamiest day we could have imagined!” Gianna adds. Some special details included bouquet charms of Gianna’s grandparents who passed, a special bar sign (The Uncle Tom Special) for Sean’s late uncle, sugar cookies as favors and the seating chart, all made by the bride (Cookies By Gi), and a Rolls-Royce for the newlyweds as they traveled from the ceremony to the reception.

Why Did You Choose the Park Avenue Club?

Gianna and Sean chose the Park Avenue Club because they wanted to have their wedding close by to make it easier on both them and their immediate families.

Favorite Moment

The couple’s favorite moment was their private first look in the hotel before the ceremony. “So special to have that moment just to ourselves!” Gianna says.

Favorite Detail

Gianna and Sean’s favorite detail was the saxophone player they they booked through their deejay.

Advice for Others

“Get as much planning done early on so you can enjoy your engagement and not stress,” Gianna says. “Remember to have fun planning and not take everything so seriously!”

Honeymoon

“Since we had been to Italy the year before, we wanted to go to Europe again but somewhere new,” Gianna explains. “I chose France, and Sean chose Spain. We started in Paris, made our way to Nice, went over to Mallorca and finished our trip in Barcelona. It was perfect!”
