Their Story
Jami and Max first met on Hinge, and it all started because of a photo of Max’s dog. That small detail caught Jami’s attention, and it became the beginning of a relationship built on laughter, patience and a very real connection.
“For a long time, we were in a long-distance relationship while Jami was in graduate school,” Max explains. “It was not always easy, but it taught us how to communicate, support each other and keep choosing the relationship even when life was busy or complicated.”
Eventually, they built a home together, and that felt like the start of a new chapter. “By the time our wedding day arrived, it felt like we were celebrating not just one day, but everything we had grown through together,” he adds.

Will You Marry Me?
Max proposed in the Bahamas, making the moment feel relaxed, personal and unforgettable. After years of dating, distance and building a life together, the proposal felt like the natural next step in their story. “It was special because it reflected us: meaningful, happy and filled with the kind of ease that has always been part of our relationship,” he adds.

Details of the Day
On October 19, 2025, Jami and Max were surrounded by family, friends and the people who had supported their relationship through every season. Their day combined classic city elegance with warm, personal moments, including a Jewish ceremony under a floral huppah, a Ketubah signing, a lively horah and a candlelit reception beneath the Crystal Tea Room’s crystal chandeliers.

The wedding featured black bridesmaid dresses, white florals, a four-tier wedding cake, engraved champagne flutes and illuminated LOVE marquee letters.

Why Did You Choose The Crystal Tea Room?
Jami and Max chose the Crystal Tea Room because it perfectly matched the timeless and elegant atmosphere they envisioned for their wedding day. “We loved its grand chandeliers, historic architecture and classic Philadelphia charm,” Max explains. “The space felt sophisticated without being overwhelming, and it provided a beautiful setting for both our Jewish ceremony traditions and our celebration with family and friends. We wanted a venue that felt romantic, iconic and capable of bringing everyone together in one unforgettable space, and the Crystal Tea Room checked every box.”

Favorite Moment
Their favorite moment was seeing everything come together after so many years of choosing each other through distance, school, busy schedules and life changes. “The ceremony felt especially meaningful because we were surrounded by the people who knew our story from the beginning,” he adds.

“We also loved the energy of the reception,” Max adds. “The horah, the dancing, the laughter and seeing our families and friends celebrate together made the room feel so full of joy. It was one of those rare moments where we could pause and realize, ‘This is really happening.’”

Favorite Detail
“Our venue was definitely a can’t-live-without part of the day,” he adds. “The Crystal Tea Room gave the wedding such a timeless, elegant atmosphere, from the ceremony setup to the chandeliers and reception space. Miguel and the Crystal Tea Room team helped everything flow smoothly, which made it easier for us to be fully present.”

“We also loved our florals by Beautiful Blooms. The white floral huppah, bouquets and reception details created a clean, romantic look that matched the feeling we wanted for the day.”

Advice for Others
“Choose the parts of the wedding that matter most to you, then let those guide your planning,” Max says. “It is easy to get pulled in many directions, but the day feels more meaningful when it reflects your relationship.
“Also, hire vendors you trust. Having a strong team made it easier for us to enjoy the day instead of worrying about every detail. Most importantly, take a few moments together during the wedding. The day moves quickly, and those quiet pauses help you remember what the celebration is really about.”

Honeymoon
After the wedding, Jami and Max wanted time to slow down and enjoy being newly married. A warm, beach-focused honeymoon felt like the perfect fit for them, especially after all the planning and excitement leading up to the wedding.
