Their Story
Kaitlyn and Jered met online in 2017 as most couples do these days. Kaitlyn knew right away that she wanted to spend her life with Jered, but it took him some extra time! They moved together to Stamford, CT, about five months before Covid began. Jered worked in sports entertainment and unfortunately lost his job, while Kaitlyn worked in healthcare. They spent most of Covid in a small one-bedroom apartment with their dog, Dave, and somehow came out on the other side unscathed! They still reside in Stamford, in a much bigger apartment, and enjoy going to as many Dave Matthews concerts as they can.
Will You Marry Me?
Kaitlyn and Jered were engaged in Portsmouth, NH, on New Years’ Eve 2022. Sadly, Kaitlyn’s mother had lost her battle with cancer earlier that morning. Her mother was adamant, even until her last few moments, that Kaitlyn “had to get to an important appointment.” Jered had shared his plans prior to her passing and she was overjoyed. They were surrounded by friends and family and knew they had a truly special woman watching over them.
Details of the Day
On September 14, 2024, Kaitlyn and Jered were married at the Crystal Point Yacht Club in Point Pleasant, NJ. The bride wore a lace gown by Stella York, while her bridesmaids wore coordinating gowns in pale pink, champagne and gold. Kaitlyn carried an all-white bouquet, with charms of her mom and aunt by her side, adorning the stems. Her maids carried similar but slightly smaller white bouquets. Jered and his groomsmen all wore tuxedos with champagne-colored ties. Kaitlyn created the invitations and all of the wedding signage.
First Looks
After a First Look with her father, Kaitlyn headed to the dock outside of Crystal Point to her First Look with Jered, with the boats in the marina as a backdrop.
The Ceremony
Their waterside wedding ceremony was held on the side lawn of the Crystal Point Yacht Club, overlooking the Manasquan River. Kaitlyn’s signs welcomed their guests.
The Reception
After cocktail hour, Kaitlyn and Jered, along with their friends and family, proceeded to Crystal Point’s ballroom. Green and white floral centerpieces decorated the tables, and personalized towels were draped on each chair so that guests could celebrate the couple’s grand entrance. Their cake was all-white with three tiers and a seashell on top.
First Dance
Kaitlyn and Jered’s first dance song was “Steady As We Go,” by Dave Matthews Band.
Favorite Moment
The couple’s favorite moment was during their wedding ceremony. “Before our vows, we played rock, paper, scissors to determine who went first,” Kaitlyn explains. “We landed on the same thing four times in a row! Our vows were then also identical!”
Favorite Detail
The couple’s favorite detail was the cutout of their dog, Dave, which was found front and center throughout the night.
Advice for Others
“Remember that at the end of the day, it’s just about you and your person,” Kaitlyn says. “Everything else is just extra. You are each other’s family now!”
Honeymoon
Kaitlyn and Jered will be going to Aruba for 10 days.
