Meaghen and Steven at The Park Savoy Estate

Your Story

We met in February 2018 on Tinder. From the moment we met each other in person, there was an instant spark and the rest is truly history. We spent all of that first year together, as much as we could do to our different work and school schedules. However, in 2019 we were long distance due to Steve having to take an internship in Arizona. At the end of 2019 right before the pandemic started, Steve moved back to New Jersey and we moved into our first apartment together. In September of 2020, right after Meaghen had gotten into graduate school, Steve proposed in a sunflower field during sunset.

Will You Marry Me?

We got engaged on September 26, 2020, in the middle of a sunflower field.

Details of Your Day

The theme of our wedding was Beauty and the Beast. Our color scheme was burgundy and navy with gold accents. Our centerpieces were a nod to the enchanted rose, which had floating roses in vases, two white and one red rose surrounded by greenery.

All of the other décor—welcome sign, ceremony sign, bar signs, invitations, seating chart, ceremony program, etc.—was handmade by Meaghen. The cake was all-white and had a scalloped design with various roses on it. Their three pets were represented on the cake as well. The layers of the cake were: chocolate cake with vanilla custard, vanilla cake with lemon custard and chocolate cake with raspberry mousse.

We had a few special details embedded in our day including memorial pictures of Meaghen’s dad and grandmother, as well as Steve’s uncle and grandfather who had passed away, all arranged in the front row of the chapel. We had a single red rose on each of the four memorial chairs. During the ceremony we each gave each other’s mother a white rose, and at the end of our ceremony before being pronounced husband and wife, we took a unity shot of our favorite liquor: Pink Whitney.

First Dance

Our first dance was “Perfect, ‘by Ed Sheeran and it was done on the clouds courtesy of our deejay. We also had a live painter paint our first dance.

Why Did you Choose The Park Savoy

The Park Savoy Estate was absolutely incredible. From the moment we walked in, the attention to detail was something that stuck out to us. We also loved that everything was all in one place (chapel and reception).

Favorite Detail

All of our vendors Liz, Chris and especially our photographer Daniel are the can’t-live-without vendors. Daniel did such an incredible job bringing our vision of what we wanted in our wedding photos to life. He is incredibly down-to-earth and extremely talented at his profession. Liz did a phenomenal job on everyone’s hair and makeup. She made everyone feel so beautiful and comfortable. Nobody’s makeup or hair budged throughout the entire night!

And last but not least: Chris, the best DJ we could have ever asked for. We asked for a party for the reception and he delivered—not one person left the dance floor once! Chris also provided our cloud for the first dance, which is definitely a cannot-live-without detail we are so glad we chose. Another can’t live without detail was the live painter Julia who created our first dance for us.

Favorite Moment

Our favorite moment of the entire night was our first dance on the clouds. It was a picture perfect moment and it felt like it was just the two of us in that ballroom in that moment.

We are going on our honeymoon over Christmas to France and Switzerland.
