How Did You Meet?
Mike and Morgan met on a dating site and had their first date in February of 2020 right before the pandemic. Mike greeted Morgan at the entrance of the restaurant with his big smile and bright blue eyes. The two hit it off immediately. Morgan left the date with butterflies, and Mike quickly asked her on a second date. The two grew close through the pandemic spending time together and with their very supportive families. The next year Mike proposed on the beach in Asbury Park, almost unable to get out the words, and of course Morgan said yes.
The two celebrated their love with close family and friends at HollyHedge Estate in New Hope, Pennsylvania, in July of 2022. It was the most magical day that marked the beginning of a beautiful life together. Mike and Morgan just welcomed a baby girl this past November and they are over the moon in love with their bundle of joy. Everyday truly gets better and better, and their wedding day was just the start of their happily ever after!
Will You Marry Me?
Mike planned a weekend getaway to the Jersey shore in April 2021. Morgan thought nothing of it because Mike always shows romantic gestures and she didn’t want to get her hopes up. To her surprise, Mike proposed on the beach in Asbury Park almost unable to get out the words, and of course Morgan said yes.
Details of the Day
“We couldn’t have asked for a more picture perfect summer day for their wedding at HollyHedge Estate,” Morgan explains. “Our photographer arrived early to take getting ready pictures of the bridal party.” She captured fun photos of the bridesmaids and bride in their robes and slippers, and then more elegant pictures in the upstairs of the old barn where the exposed stone, piano and floor-to-ceiling windows lent to an exquisite setting.
The groomsmen and groom had a blast taking photos in front of the fountain and in the library of the inn.
Their ceremony took place in the enchanting English garden which was the selling point for Morgan and Mike at HollyHedge! The cocktail hour took place in the old barn where the bride and groom kicked off the wedding from the balcony.
The reception then followed down stone steps surrounded by foliage in the blue barn. Mike and Morgan danced all night long with their wedding guests and capped off the night with a bonfire and s’mores at the old barn.
Why Did you Choose HollyHedge Estate?
“One word—enchanting!” says Morgan.
“Exchanging our vows in our own words at the ceremony,” says Morgan. “It was so heartfelt and brought us and all our guests to tears.”
“We loved all of our vendors,” Morgan added. “It is worth every penny to go with a trusted photographer and floral designer. We utilized family for floral, and the flowers were amazing and contributed to the romantic ambiance. There are so many nooks and crannies to place flowers at HollyHedge Estate.”
Advice to Others
Stay organized! Keep a binder or folder of all your vendor details and take lots of notes when you meet with vendors. “I am an event planner for a living, so it was easy for me,” Morgan says. “If you are looking to save money and plan your wedding yourself, definitely stay organized. You can do it!”
“We are a very active and adventurous couple so we chose to go to Costa Rica for our honeymoon a week after our wedding,” Morgan says. “We both had never been, so it was exciting to see a new country together. We stayed at a boutique hotel on the beach in Tamarindo. We split up relaxing days by the pool and beach with adventures like zip-lining by volcanoes, hiking, horseback riding, relaxing in hot springs, and trekking across suspended bridges amongst howler monkeys!”
