Meet the Team
Lisa Porada
Owner and Cake Designer in Chief
Owner Lisa Porada is a lifelong resident of New Jersey, living in Shrewsbury for more than 20 years with her husband, John where they raised two daughters. Lisa graduated from Rutgers with degrees in Spanish and Political Science and Drew University with a Master’s Degree in International Affairs. She worked for several years on Wall Street and later at a consulting firm in New Jersey. However, her love of creating sweets, originating from a high school job in a sweet shop, inspired her to leave the corporate world and pursue her dream.
Chocolate Carousel was founded once Lisa completed training in chocolate, pastry and cake design. Lisa runs the company and acts as the executive pastry chef and lead cake designer. Founded in 2003, Chocolate Carousel is widely known for its beautiful cake creations, creative designs concepts and exceptional quality and service. Chocolate Carousel has received a number of local and national awards for its work and philanthropy.
