About Morris Museum

For couples looking for a wedding venue that feels completely unique, the Morris Museum offers a stylish blend of historic charm and modern design. This Morristown gem pairs a Georgian-style mansion with sleek glass architecture, creating a setting that’s equal parts classic and contemporary.

You have access to two distinct spaces, both of which are typically used throughout your wedding day. The Museum Court is a skylit, two-story promenade that’s perfect for cocktails and more intimate moments. It’s bright, airy and features a striking brick wall that adds warmth, texture and a built-in backdrop for both photos and gathering spaces. Guests can even dine under the stars here, thanks to the skylight overhead—adding a romantic, open-air feel while still being indoors.

The more dramatic Entrance Pavilion features soaring glass walls and beautifully connects the historic and modern elements of the property. A typical wedding-day flow includes a ceremony in the Entrance Pavilion, cocktails in Museum Court and then a seamless return to the Entrance Pavilion for dinner and dancing—creating a natural progression to the evening without guests ever feeling rushed.

Weddings take place after hours, when the museum is closed to the public, creating a private, exclusive experience. With only one event hosted at a time, your celebration truly feels like the main event—and during the reception, guests can wander through the galleries and enjoy the exhibits, adding an interactive element you won’t find at a traditional venue.

Another perk is that couples have access to the museum three hours prior to the wedding, allowing for photos throughout the mansion, galleries and outdoor gardens. The variety of backdrops is a dream for photographers and gives your wedding gallery a completely elevated, editorial feel.

One of the biggest draws here is flexibility and value. The Morris Museum is a more affordable option, with a site rental fee and your choice of five approved caterers—offering a range of price points and cuisines so you can truly customize your wedding experience.
