Their Story
Victoria and Andrew met at work in 2015 but didn’t start to date until 2021. “Our relationship just naturally progressed over the years from co-workers, to friends and then we realized that our after-work happy hours started to become more like dates,” Victoria explains. “We both fell pretty hard and knew very early on into our relationship that we would marry each other. We had such a strong foundation from years of friendship that it just felt right.”
Will You Marry Me?
Most of the couple’s dates consisted of long walks through the many NYC parks, so it wasn’t unusual that Andrew suggested a walk through Astoria Park on their way to dinner one night. “Andrew’s need to be in the park before it was ‘too dark,’ made me a little suspicious,” Victoria explains. “As we came to a stop, Andrew said, ‘Well, you’re you, so you’ve already figured it out,’ got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! According to Andrew, I never actually said yes but just shouted ‘Of course, of course!'”
Details of the Day
Victoria and Andrew made a few unconventional choices for their March 21, 2025, wedding at McLoone’s Pier House in Long Branch, NJ. They held their ceremony the day before in NYC, they didn’t pick bridesmaids and groomsmen but instead had their siblings as their bridal party, and they chose an upbeat first-dance song.
In addition to the beautiful four-tiered wedding cake from Chocolate Carousel in Wall Township, NJ, Victoria and Andrew treated their guests to individual mini wedding cakes in a variety of flavors served tableside. Chocolate Carousel also made an awesome custom groom’s cake and sugar-cookie place cards.
These sweet treats were truly a labor of love since Victoria’s parents, Lisa and John, are the owners of Chocolate Carousel. “Our guests had so much fun trying all the different flavors!” Victoria adds.
Why Did You Choose McLoone’s Pier House?
“We fell in love with McLoone’s instantly,” Victoria explains. “We loved the beautiful views of the beach and that you can enjoy them even after dark. The venue was beautiful inside but still allowed us to mold it into the feeling and style that we wanted. The staff were incredibly attentive from the moment we toured the venue until our wedding day!”
Favorite Moment
“Our favorite moment was our first dance,” Victoria says. “We had a private ceremony the night before, so this was the first time we really saw all of our guests. We chose ‘More Today Than Yesterday’ as our first-dance song, which surprised a lot of our guests. It was fun to see our guests dancing along and really set the mood for a fun evening!”
Favorite Can’t-Live-Without Detail
Victoria and Andrew loved having an audio guest book from After the Tone. “We had guests leave us voicemails all night long and got a recording back a few weeks later,” Victoria says. “It’s so fun to hear everyone’s advice, well wishes and commentary throughout the night. It’s really special to have everyone’s voices saved that we can listen to year after year.”
Honeymoon
The couple spent their honeymoon at Sandals Royal Barbados and had a fantastic time. “We spent most of our time lounging by the many pools, visiting the spa and bowling after dinner,” Victoria says. “We got to explore the island and learn about its history, visit several distilleries and even took a catamaran cruise at sunset!”
Advice for Others
“It’s your day to celebrate your marriage with the people who love you most, and your day should capture your personality,” Victoria advises. “Do what feels right for you and don’t worry so much about the way things usually go or what other people are planning. If it’s authentic to you as a couple, your guests will have the best time!”
