Victoria and Tim at the Mansion at Mountain Lakes

Your Story

“We met on Hinge!” Victoria says. “We lived four blocks away from each other in Hoboken and never would have otherwise met. We just always had a lot of fun together but also shared the same values. He didn’t run scared when we had an unexpected impromptu day out with six of my family members on our third or fourth date.” Tim adds: “We had everything in common and it was always so easy.”

Will You Marry Me?

Tim proposed at Holy Face Monastery in Clifton overlooking the backdrop of the Manhattan Skyline. “My sister was in on it,” Victoria explains. “They made up a ruse that we were going out to dinner but she wanted to light a candle in memory of my grandfather first. I was so surprised when Tim showed up I actually blurted out, ‘Omg for a second I thought you were going to propose and I look hideous right now!’ My hair was wet, glasses and I didn’t even have a manicure. Next thing I knew he was on one knee. My sister’s iPhone malfunctioned and we only got one picture of the whole thing, but it was a true and complete surprise and somehow absolutely perfect.”

Details of the Day

Victoria and Tim were married at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Boonton and then proceeded to the Mansion at Mountain Lakes for their reception. “It’s a beautiful, elegant venue with a warm welcoming feel and excellent value,” Victoria says.

Her bouquet of Sahara roses, lagrus grass, quicksand roses and white hypericum were accented with lace from her mother’s wedding dress on the bouquet and charms with Victoria’s grandparent’s who are no longer with her.

The bride’s ballgown was by Milla Nova and the bridesmaids wore rose satin and velvet gowns from Dessy. Victoria is a big crocheter, so she ended up using a faux fur yarn to crochet the shawls for her maids.

Their Rolls-Royce driver unexpectedly did a memorable champagne toast after their wedding Mass. “His ‘from holy hour to happy hour’ quote will not be soon forgotten,” adds Victoria.

First Dance

“I Will,” by the Beatles.

Favorite Moment

The first was “making our grand entrance as husband and wife on the beautiful staircase to the tune of ‘White Room’ by Cream, lol,” Victoria says. The second was when Tim did an impromptu drum solo and the crowd went wild.

Favorite Detail

“Truly all were exceptional, but Kat really brought it with my makeup and exceeded all expectations for the glam moment of my life,” Victoria adds.

“My friend gave me some of the best advice: ‘It’s not about the wedding; it’s about the marriage,'” Victoria says. “Enjoy the planning and details but don’t lost sight of what it’s really about—living your vows every day.”

The couple went to Tanzania: Zanzibar and Serengeti National Park.
