Bride and groom at wedding at Lucien's Manor

Angelica and Steven at Lucien’s Manor

Their Story

Angelica and Steven actually met in the most modern, unexpected way…through Tinder. “What started as a simple swipe, turned into the beginning of something neither of us could have predicted,” Angelica recalls. “I still remember seeing his profile for the first time: Something about his smile, his confidence, and the way he wrote about himself made him stand out from everyone else. It didn’t feel like scrolling anymore, something about him instantly caught my attention.”

When the couple matched, the conversation was easy from the very first message. No awkward pauses, no forced small talk. “It felt natural, almost like we had known each other longer than a few minutes,” Angelica adds. “What surprised me most was how quickly his personality came through—funny, genuine and actually interested in getting to know me. Before long, messaging him became the part of my day I looked forward to the most.”

After talking nonstop, they finally decided to meet in person, and that first date changed everything. All the playful banter, all the chemistry, all the connection they’d built online came to life the moment they saw one another. “What was supposed to be a simple meet-up turned into hours of talking, laughing and realizing we had stumbled into something real,” Angelica says. “Looking back now, it’s crazy to think that one swipe…one moment of pausing on the right person led to all of this. A wedding, a lifetime commitment and a love story that started in the most unexpected but perfectly ‘us’ way possible.”

Will You Marry Me?

“The proposal happened on June 1, 2024, one of those days that started out so normal but ended up becoming one of the most meaningful moments of my life,” Angelica explains. “We were going to a family barbecue at my mom’s, nothing fancy, nothing out of the ordinary. I didn’t question it for a second because he knows how much family means to me, and I had always told him that when the time came, I wanted my loved ones there.

“The day felt warm and easy. Everyone was laughing, talking and enjoying themselves, and I remember feeling so grateful just to be surrounded by the people who mattered most. What I didn’t know was that they were all part of something much bigger.”

At one point, Angelica’s mom suggested taking a big family photo. “It felt so normal, exactly the kind of thing we would do at a gathering like this. After the picture, my mom gently had me turn around, saying she had something for me. She handed me a card from my now husband. As I opened it, I saw his handwriting telling me he was ready to take the next step in our relationship. My heart started racing, and suddenly everything made sense.”

When Angelica turned back around, Steven was on one knee, waiting for her with the biggest, most emotional smile. “We were completely surrounded by our loved ones, everyone watching the moment unfold with tears, cheers and the warmest support,” Angelica says. “It was emotional, intimate and absolutely perfect. June 1, 2024, became the day that changed everything…not just because he proposed, but because he did it in the exact way I always hoped for: meaningful, thoughtful and with our families right there to witness the beginning of our forever.”

Details of the Day

The couple was married on October 5, 2025, at Lucien’s Manor in Berlin, NJ. Every detail of their wedding day was chosen with intention, love and a vision of bringing their families and friends together for an unforgettable celebration. From the moment guests arrived, Angelica and Steven wanted the atmosphere to feel warm, inviting and full of joy.

A deep-peach palette tied the entire reception together, showing up in the bridesmaid dresses, the groom’s and groomsmen’s ties, the roses in the bouquets and centerpieces, table runners, the cake florals, and even the table numbers.

After exchanging vows, friends and family followed the couple into the French-inspired Versailles ballroom for dinner and dancing, where cascading crystal chandeliers and a grand marble fireplace set the scene.

Signature drinks included a guava mojito named after their dog Zeus, while the Jack & Coke was named after their dog Loki.

First Dance

Their first dance was a mashup of “Las Cosas Pequenas,” by Prince Royce and “Baile Involvidable,” by Bad Bunny.

Why Did You Choose Luciens Manor?

The couple chose Lucien’s as their wedding venue because it embodied everything they envisioned for their day. “The ceremony space was absolutely breathtaking…warm, elegant and filled with the kind of beauty that makes every moment feel timeless,” Angelica explains. “The ballroom was just as stunning, with its grand design, gorgeous lighting and the perfect atmosphere for an unforgettable celebration.”

Beyond the incredible spaces, what truly set Lucien’s apart was the professionalism of the staff. “From the very first tour to the final moments of the night, their team went above and beyond to make sure every detail was flawless,” she added. “They were attentive, organized and genuinely invested in making our day perfect. Choosing Lucien’s felt effortless, and it was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding.”

Favorite Moment

Angelica’s favorite moment from the entire wedding day was right after the ceremony, when everything finally slowed down just enough for her to take it all in. “I remember stepping into the reception space and immediately being surrounded by the people I love most—my friends laughing at their tables, my family greeting each other like it was a reunion years in the making, and everyone already enjoying the food, the music, and the energy of the night,” she says.

“There was this beautiful hum in the room, a mix of glasses clinking, cameras flashing and my bridal party calling my name just to tell me how stunning everything looked. I took a second to just look around, and the sight genuinely took my breath away. Every single person who mattered to me was in one place, at one time, celebrating us.

“I remember hugging my friends…some I hadn’t seen in months and getting caught up in the excitement of everyone telling me their favorite part so far. My family was smiling in a way I’ll never forget, like they were as proud and happy as I was. Watching everyone dance, talk, laugh and genuinely enjoy themselves made my heart feel so full.

“It was in that moment that everything felt perfect: the love in the room, the joy on everyone’s faces, the warmth of being surrounded by my closest people and the realization that this was the start of a beautiful new chapter. That memory is something I’ll carry with me forever.”

Favorite Detail

When Angelica thinks back on her wedding day, the one detail that stands out are two specific vendors. “I absolutely could not have lived without my photographer (Marc Bueller) and videographer (Happy Tears Productions),” she says. “They brought a level of magic, ease and professionalism that completely elevated the entire experience.

“From the very beginning, they didn’t just provide a service, they provided peace of mind. They anticipated needs before I even realized I had them, communicated clearly and treated every moment of the day like it mattered. On the wedding day, they were everywhere they needed to be without ever being intrusive, making every transition feel seamless.

“Whether it was coordinating tiny behind-the-scenes details, ensuring the timeline stayed on track or adding thoughtful touches that made guests feel cared for, they played an essential role in shaping the atmosphere of the day. I remember looking around and seeing everything flowing so beautifully…my friends laughing, my family smiling, my guests enjoying themselves and knowing that it was largely because of the work they were doing quietly in the background.

“There’s always that vendor who ends up being the heartbeat of the wedding day, the one whose absence you can’t even imagine. For us, it was them. They didn’t just meet expectations, they exceeded them in every possible way. If I could give one piece of advice to any future bride, it would be this: Book them. They were the detail that made the entire day feel effortless, joyful and unforgettable.”

Advice for Others

Angelica provided a number of really helpful tips, which included:

  • Your wedding day goes by faster than you can imagine. Slow down, take a breath and look around. Notice your guests smiling, hear the music, feel the energy. Those small moments end up becoming the ones you cherish most.
  • The right vendors make your day feel effortless. When you feel comfortable and supported, everything else flows naturally.
  • Something small will go differently than planned and that’s OK. The day is still going to be beautiful because it’s yours. Focus on the meaning, not the tiny details.
  • Even if it’s just a quiet minute together between photos or during dinner, pause and soak in the fact that you’re stepping into forever with each other.
  • Surround yourself with people who bring joy, calm and love. The energy of the people around you sets the tone for your whole day.
  • Eat, hydrate and take care of yourself.

Honeymoon

The couple hasn’t gone on their honeymoon just yet, but they’re already dreaming and planning something unforgettable. “Instead of rushing into a trip right after the wedding, we decided to take our time and choose an experience that feels truly special to both of us,” Angelica explains. “Right now, we’re planning an African safari…something adventurous, meaningful and completely different from anything we’ve ever done. The idea of seeing wildlife up close, exploring beautiful landscapes and sharing that once-in-a-lifetime experience together feels like the perfect way to celebrate the start of our marriage. It’s a trip we’re really looking forward to, and we can’t wait to make those memories in the near future.”
